Zambales is one of the perfect beach escape for all sun-worshipping-weekend-warriors. It has almost everything for just a quick beach escape! There are so much things to do and explore in the town go beach hop, scuba dive with fishes and see the  shipwrecks, explore Mt. Pinatubo, go on adventure in jungle safari and more.

1. Enjoy beaches and go island hopping

Zambales is home of some famous beaches —such as Nagsasa Cove, Anawangin Cove and more, since it lies along the Luzon's western coast and West Philippine Sea. Island hopping is the best way to appreciate all beaches and witness the panoramic view of all islands in Zambales.

2. Mountain Trekking

Witness above the panoramic view of the islands. One of the exciting adventure while you are on your Zambales beach escape is by hiking the four famous coves in Zambales —the Nagsasa Cove, Anawangin Cove,  Talisayin Cove, and Silanguin Cove, and witness its hidden falls.


3. Go surfing!

Although it's not the surfing capital of the Philippines, but Zambales is also a perfect place for surfing. Liwliwa Beach and Crystal Beach is the perfect spot for surfing because of its powerful waves during its season except only in summer when the waves are calmer.

4. Camp out!

Well, your beach escape won't be complete without camping out! You can go on camping with some of the beaches in Zambales but Anawangin Cove is the best camping site as it was known as the "tent town" from all beaches in Zambales. You can pitch your own tent or rent the tent limited to some beaches only.


5. Watch the sunset

There's no romantic way to spend your stay at the beach other than watching sunsets. You can watch sunsets from all its beaches but Silanguin Cove is gifted with trees and beachfront which made the perfect spot for sunsets.

Camping out won't be complete without gazing at the stars. All beaches are good for stargazing, but Talisayin Cove has the best perfect spot for stargazing because it's the least visited and quietest island among all the coves in Zambales.

7. Go fishing!

If you wish to try fishing, Pundaquit Island offers fishing tours since the place is known for home of fishermen. You tell your boatman beforehand to add this activity to your island hopping tour.


8. Scuba dive with fishes and explore shipwrecks

Zambales has also a lot diving spots. One of its panoramic open-sea-view and the most unique diving sites is the Subic Bay. The shipwrecks accumulated during American Period and World War II was now the favorite hangout place for various schools of fish which also turned into hot diving spot of the town.

9. Getting at the top of Capones Lighthouse

The lighthouse build on the bone-shaped secluded cliff of Capones Island was used to guide the ships going to Subic Bay. The island was ideal for snorkeling and diving sites yet your Capones Island side trip won't be complete without getting at the top of the Lighthouse.

10. Explore Mt. Pinatubo

The Mt. Pinatubo in town was considered as the most destructive volcanic eruption in Philippines History (1991). Although it's an active stratovolcano, Mt. Pinatubo was turned as hiking destination which is best to visit during dry season in October to June. You can the packages online or organize your own tour to witness its crater lake on top and get rewarded with panoramic blue green waters that you can dip in.


11. Visit the town’s cultural heritage at Casa San Miguel

There are also historical places you can visit in Zambales -- on of it was the town's cultural heritage, the Casa San Miguel. The heritage aims to "integrate culture and community development" in Zambales which showcases its musical, artistic and cultural heritage of San Antonio. 

12. Experience the famous and biggest Inflatable Island

If you want something new other than island hopping, you can try the famous and biggest inflatable playground in Asia, the Inflatable Island. The place is perfect for all ages to have fun and play around the inflatable slides.


13. Go on adventure at jungle safari

Other than water activities, you can also go on jungle safari adventure! Visit and say hi to the wild animals up close in Zoobic Safari. It's a 25-hectare wildlife park with various animals where children and adults would definitely enjoy and love to visit.

14. Take home the sweetest mangoes

Zambales was once listed by the Guinness Book of World Records in 1995 as one of the sweetest mangoes in the world. From then, the town started to celebrate its Dinamulag Festival (or Zambales Mango Festival) during first week of April. Hence, you should never go home without picking your own mangoes in Rosa Farms' with 12.5-hectare mango orchard, "Pick and pay" during its harvest season.
